چکیده
Parrotia persica is one of the most notable endemic relict tree species growing in Hyrcanian forest at southern Caspian Sea. The recent discovery sibling subaequalis, occurring temperate forests south-eastern China, offers opportunity to compare their morphology and ecological preferences dig deeper into paleophytogeographic history genus from a perspective. Since pollen these would be essential unravel origin evolution Arcto-Tertiary species, present study aimed investigate whether it possible segregate two species. Therefore, detailed combined light- scanning electron microscopy-based pollen-analysis each taxon was conducted, described, measured, compared using statistical approaches principal component analyses establish unbiased results. correlation-based analysis achieved for shows an overall good superposition grains measured equatorial polar views first plane, revealing that P. morphometrically as homogeneous subaequalis. Then, significant difference, mainly driven by lumen density, has been highlighted between Ultimately, cross-validation resulting two-species linear discriminants classifier based upon this reference dataset, (sub)fossil grain can now confidently assigned either with 85.8% correct-assignment rate. This opens new doors affiliation fossil suggests previous records need revised.

Phenotypic Variation and Leaf Fluctuating Asymmetry in Natural Populations of Parrotia Persica (hamamelidaceae), an Endemic Species from the Hyrcanian Forest
Phenotypic variation in four natural populations of Parrotia persica (Hamamelidaceae), a species considered a living fossil endemic to the Hyrcanian forest, was evaluated through leaf morphometric and multivariate analysis. Furthermore, plasticity and leaf fluctuating asymmetry (LFA) were studied. Our findings clearly displayed significant divergence among sites. The smallest lamina size, the h...

To evaluate the effects of pollen source and grafting on morphological characteristics and color of tomatoes, different cultivars with various fruit colors were grown and investigated in three experiments. In the first experiment, the red sweet olive cultivar was used as female parent and yellow pear, violet cherry, yellow palm garden and orange olive cultivars were used as male parents. In the...
متن کاملIdentification of Aspergillus Species Using Morphological Characteristics
Objectives: Although molecular methods continue to improve and become more rapidly available, microscopy and culture remain commonly used and essential tools for identification of Aspergillus spp. In this study we emphasize on morphological methods including; macroscopic and microscopic characteristics for identification of Aspergillus species isolated from environmental and clinical specimens....
متن کاملDevelopment and Application of Genomic Resources in an Endangered Palaeoendemic Tree, Parrotia subaequalis (Hamamelidaceae) From Eastern China
Parrotia subaequalis is an endangered palaeoendemic tree from disjunct montane sites in eastern China. Due to the lack of effective genomic resources, the genetic diversity and population structure of this endangered species are not clearly understood. In this study, we conducted paired-end shotgun sequencing (2 × 125 bp) of genomic DNA for two individuals of P. subaequalis on the Illumina HiSe...
